Oudh attar is derived from Aquilaria species trees that produce agarwood resin as a defensive response to fungal infection. This resin contains a complex mixture of aromatic compounds including agarospirol, jinkohol, and various sesquiterpenes that create its distinctive olfactory profile. The traditional hydro-distillation process preserves these delicate compounds in their natural balance.

Our authentic Oudh attar is ethically sourced from sustainable agarwood plantations in Assam, India and select Southeast Asian regions. The dark, resinous heartwood forms only in Aquilaria trees that have been naturally infected with a specific fungus, making genuine oudh extraordinarily rare. Master distillers then carefully process this precious material using traditional copper stills, capturing its essence in a sandalwood oil base through the time-honored deg bhapka method.
